Our swamp themed restaurant is located in the French Quarter, New Orleans, Louisiana.  In addition to it being dog-friendly (of course), this eatery is also operated and owned by Tia Torres and the family at Villalobos Rescue Center which just happens to be the Pit Bull Rescue featured on Animal Planet's "Pit Bulls & Parolees".

Everything at the Tavern is on a donation basis meaning...THERE ARE NO PRICES ON OUR MENU!  You pay/donate what you can afford.  In addition to the new business structure at the Tavern, it has also become a new training program for our parolees and introduces them to the world of culinary and the service industry.  At the Tahyo Tavern, the once incarcerated will be given the chance at receiving "hand's on" training and give them another option for a career into a brighter future.

Currently and due to the COVID-19 virus pandemic, our physical location in the French Quarter is closed. But we continue to feed those in need on a weekly basis.  Thanks to your donations, we have been able to help take care of some of the members of the Lower 9 Senior Center so that they can remain safe within their homes.

All of our merchandise for the Tahyo Tavern has been moved to the online store:   https://vrcstore.dog/

When you eat, they eat...that's our motto.  Monies made from our restaurant, go to helping keep our rescue doors open and our dogs fed.  So when you stuff your face, you fill their bellies.

And our course our employees and their dogs welcome you with smiling faces and wagging tails...and maybe a little drool.
